Network Interface Cards (NICs)
Add a new device to a data network using one of our many types of network adapters that provide connectivity for standard desktop PCs, laptops, and tablets. Our wide assortment of network adapters allow you to bring a building’s fiber backbone all the way to the desktop in Fiber-to-the-Desk (FTTD) applications, offering the advantages of higher bandwidth transmission over longer distances with more security than copper or wireless transmission. Our complete line of PCIe embedded NICs are built on network interface card (NIC) standards. We also offer innovative USB-to-fiber Ethernet adapters for providing an optical interface to portable devices like laptops and tablets, and M.2 fiber Ethernet adapters which provide fiber connectivity to smaller devices such as micros, minis, and thin clients.
Coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) is a wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology that combines multiple signals at various wavelengths for simultaneous transmission over fiber cables. This passive technology allows for any protocol to be transported over the link, as long as it is at a specific wavelength (i.e. T1 over fiber at 1570nm transported alongside 10Gbps Ethernet at 1590nm).
CWDM is a low-cost method to maximize existing fiber by decreasing the channel spacing between wavelengths. CWDM has a lower cost per channel than dense WDM (DWDM) and no configuration is necessary. CWDM optical devices can increase bandwidth on existing fiber infrastructure and alleviate fiber exhaustion. CWDM optical devices are available as 4-channel, 8-channel or 16-channel mux/demux modules or as an add/drop module.

Lantronix’s Small form-factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver modules are the ideal solution for any network supporting a large variety of data rates and fiber types. Our SFP modules are also available as Cisco compliant as well as HP and Juniper compliant providing the right cross-platform connectivity for your network. Hardened SFP transceivers are also available to support harsh environments and support network connections in hardened devices.
