Product Line Manager

The Product Line Manager is responsible for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products. It includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The PLMs job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.

The Product Line Manager is expected to:

  • Act as the leader and primary spokesperson for the product line
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap
  • Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Perform product demos to customers
  • Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Deliver a monthly revenue forecast
  • Develop sales tools and collateral
  • Propose an overall budget to ensure success
  • Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings
  • Brief press and analysts and go on press tours


  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
  • 10+ years in the embedded software, semiconductor, Enterprise Networking or M2M/IoT Platforms area
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science, MBA preferred
  • Technical background, with experience in Computer Networking, Cellular, Wi-Fi/BT M2M Technologies, IOT, Enterprise Application Integration
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Must be able to travel 30-40% of the time

As a member of the product development team, you will develop and enhance software and firmware for our industry leading embedded and external Device Enablement and ITM products. Regional Sales Manager- EUROPE

The Regional Sales Manager will manage and lead sales activities for Lantronix to Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and distributor accounts within the defined territory above.   The position is responsible for the development of the sales within the region and execution of territory plans.  The Regional Sales Manager candidate must have sales experience in IoT (Internet of Things) sales with enterprise and commercial businesses, government institutions, telecommunication and utility companies, financial institutions, healthcare providers, individual consumers, Industrial OEMs and VARs.  Additionally, experience selling Cloud-based SaaS and/or PaaS Solutions or connectivity services is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to the following)

  • Meet or exceed all quarterly objectives for assigned geographical area in sales and design wins
  • Maintain a significant opportunity pipeline to assure success and on-going growth for the region
  • Sales and consulting as related to the integration of Lantronix networking and connectivity technology with mid- and large-corporations
  • Develop and execute strategic and tactical sales plans for short and long term objectives

  • Coordinate with product marketing on the development of short and long-term sales strategies, product introductions, new products and features, etc.
  • Establish and manage relationships with cross functional departments within Lantronix for product fulfillment, customer service, pricing, etc.
  • Provide timely information on competitive activities within the region and overall market place
  • Oversee the weekly sales reporting processes and present information to all levels of management
  • Use (SFDC) as a sales tracking and forecasting tool
  • Oversee the Design-Win and Design Win Registration processes for assigned geographical area
  • Travel requirements are approximately 50% of the work time for travel within the territory

Education, Skills and Competencies

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field or a B.A. with a minimum of 4 years work experience in a multi-tiered, technical selling environment, including but not limited to the selling of both software and hardware products or documented equivalent work experience
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and a background selling complex IC solutions into the targeted verticals.
  • Preferred experience in networking with knowledge in the OSI 7 layer model for network communication.
  • Experience selling cloud-based, Saas, PaaS or specific IoT solutions is strongly preferred
  • Must have experience with OEM Sales into one or more vertical markets of Industrial, Security, Energy, Medical, Telematics, and other vertical markets served by Lantronix
  • Knowledge of wired and wireless networking technology, 802.3, 801.11, and/or cellular is desired
  • Knowledge in IoT requirements and applications
  • Must be able to accurately reflect customer’s business and technical requirements for design win success
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience with a CRM tool (ie SalesForce.Com)
