Responsibilities

  • Help to create a vision, define architecture, investigate build vs open source vs buy tradeoffs, design and develop specifications
  • Engage with end-users to understand their pain-points, challenges and requirements
  • Engage with product management and engineering leadership on project and feature scoping
  • Work closely with engineering and test organizations, helping them with architecture and design details, while maintaining strict adherence to vision and architecture

Skills and Competencies

  • 10 years of hands-on software development experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in related Engineering discipline is required; post-graduate Engineering degree is preferred

Job Description

This position entails doing competitive product assessment and benchmarking, developing demos and prototypes for tradeshows and customer visits, performance benchmarking, customer application engineering, and other product management activities.

Customer Support Specialist

Job Description

Lantronix is looking for a Customer Support Specialist that can manage customer support processes from the beginning to the end.  Oracle experience is a must for this position. This position reports to the Business Development Manager.  In addition to communicating directly by phone and email with customers, this individual will be the liaison between sales and other internal departments including operations, finance and engineering. A successful candidate will be self-motivated and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.  Ability to maintain a positive attitude while working through challenging customer issues is key to success in this position.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Global Customer Support and Order Management for the AMERICAS, EMEA, AsiaPac/Japan Territories
  • Standard customer support tasks (including, but not limited to): data entry, order entry and maintenance in Oracle, order status updates, RMA Processing, stock rotations, special pricing, credit/billing issues, and ad-hoc reporting.
  • Interact with customers and internal sales team via phone and email to process and manage orders
  • Ensure customer inquiries are answered and/or resolved in a timely manner.
  • Handle customer requests for repair and product return. Verify warranty status and take appropriate action. Work closely with Tech Support.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • A.S./A.A. or some College with 3 – 5 years of Corporate-level experience
  • Experience using Oracle is a must for this position
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Technical Support Representative

JOB OVERVIEW

JOB TITLE: Technical Support Representative

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use computer networking knowledge to resolve customer technical issues by responding to technical support requests (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting) via phone, fax, email, or  web.
  • Prioritize requests, log cases into the tracking system, investigate the problem’s root cause (determine the correct solution, providing status updates to customers and resolve the case in a timely manner, while maintaining the highest levels of customer satisfaction).
  • Stay abreast of new product introductions, competitive products, new technology, new methodologies, and technology standards.
  • Demonstrate knowledge by developing FAQs for the Web, review product documentation for accuracy, and ease of use, and recognize reoccurring problems as early as possible.
  • Keep management and team informed of escalation activity, modifications to process, and RMA activity.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

  • BSCE/BSEE or some College with an emphasis on network product-related technology
  • 5+ years Networking  technology  support  with external customers
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP routing and subnetting and familiarity with IEEE Ethernet standards including 802.3, 802.11, 802.1x personal and enterprise
  • Wireshark experience a plus
  • Familiarity with serial and wireless communications and major OS (DOS, Win, UNIX/LINUX, OS)
  • Ability to remain positive while dealing with customers or complex product-related issues
  • Use strong verbal and written communication skills to resolve issues quickly, to provide an appropriate solution, and to build relationships
  • Ability to multitask and work in a team environment
  • Ability to learn, manage and support multiple product lines
  • Ability to respond to customers, on their level, focusing on their specific needs
  • Experience using a CRM is a plus
  • Experiience with Cellular communications, GSM/GPRS/SMS knowledge a plus
