Product Line Manager

The Product Line Manager is responsible for both product planning and product marketing. This includes managing the product throughout the product lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products. It includes working with sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The PLMs job also includes ensuring that the product and marketing efforts support the company’s overall strategy and goals.

The Product Line Manager is expected to:

  • Act as the leader and primary spokesperson for the product line
  • Define the product strategy and roadmap
  • Deliver MRDs and PRDs with prioritized features and corresponding justification
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Develop the core positioning and messaging for the product
  • Perform product demos to customers
  • Set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • Deliver a monthly revenue forecast
  • Develop sales tools and collateral
  • Propose an overall budget to ensure success
  • Brief and train the sales force at quarterly sales meetings
  • Brief press and analysts and go on press tours

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Product Manager or Product Marketing Manager
  • 10+ years in the embedded software, semiconductor, Enterprise Networking or M2M/IoT Platforms area
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated success defining and launching excellent products
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Engineering or Computer Science, MBA preferred
  • Technical background, with experience in Computer Networking, Cellular, Wi-Fi/BT M2M Technologies, IOT, Enterprise Application Integration
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Must be able to travel 30-40% of the time
  • Examples and at least one sample of an effective new product delivered in the past

Job Description: Reporting to the Manager, Software Engineering, the Principal Engineer/Project Lead will have a hands-on role while leading a project team to develop and enhance software and firmware for our industry leading IoT Modules and Enterprise Solutions products. Our platforms are at the forefront of driving M2M connectivity with intelligent device services that enable our customers to access remote device data within the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities: The Principal Engineer/Project Lead is responsible for development, integration and verification of software as well as for the maintenance and support of the software across multiple versions and platforms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Gather and finalize software requirements based on product requirements.
  • Lead software development teams( including offshore team) to drive software releases
  • Take initiative to continuously improve software development process to increase efficiency and quality of software releases.
  • Produce high quality code that conforms to the design and functional requirements. Use command line tools and IDE for design and debugging.
  • Develop validation plans and execute them to ensure that code is fully unit tested before submitting to Product Assurance Testing.
  • Provide support to other Engineers, Field Application Engineers/Technical Support staff in areas of expertise and domain knowledge.
  • Provides work estimates for development projects and reports status of projects to management.
  • Improve and maintain new and existing functionality through the product lifecycle.
  • Provide technical direction and some project management within a project team.
  • Opportunity to provide technical leadership to a group of local and/or remote engineers.

Skills:  A successful candidate for this position will have:

  • BSEE/BSCS or equivalent, MSEE/MSCS a plus.
  • 10+ years of practical experience in embedded product development for networking equipment (wired or wireless), M2M technology or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of experience in providing technical leadership to lead a team of senior/principal engineers; Experience in “leading” the development and release of embedded software products is highly desirable.
  • Able to track and manage multiple projects; work with cross functional teams.
  • Requires strong C/C++ programming experience and good understanding of algorithms and data structures.
  • Demonstrated experience in TCP/IP protocols (Sockets, IPv4, IPv6, TCP, UDP, ICMP, QOS, etc.).
  • Expertise in developing Wi-Fi enabled products with enterprise class security; experience with 802.11ac/b/g/n protocol stack; Hands on experience working on supplicant, radio drivers and firmware;
  • Advanced knowledge of multi-threaded embedded application software including but not limited to network protocol stacks and implementing communication systems from the ground up.
  • Experience with at least one RTOS (ThreadX, eCos, VxWorks, FreeRTOS) and/or embedded linux.
  • Experience in at least one embedded Linux distribution is needed (Commercial – Monta Vista Linux, Wind River Linux, Timesys Linux or Open Source – buildroot, OpenEmbedded, uClinux).
  • Protocol Stack knowledge for one or more wireless technologies: 802.11, 802.15.4, Zigbee, Bluetooth, CDMA, GSM is desirable.
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, XP) a plus.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, the Software Engineering Director position entails management of daily operations of software projects and software development teams responsible for the design and implementation of Lantronix’ Software solutions. Key responsibilities of the position include all aspects of the development lifecycle, adherence to company development standards, software quality, collection and reporting of status and metrics, leading the software project team in appropriate best practices, and working as a partner with stakeholders. This position includes multiple direct reports as well as leadership and hands-on execution of tactical and technical projects both in Irvine and in our Hyderabad India facility.

The Software Director facilitates communications between multi-functional/multi-site team members, stakeholders and senior management to ensure timelines and goals are met. The Software Director establishes goals and expectations for their team, monitors performance, and provides prompt and effective feedback.

This role requires project management of one or more software projects. This involves leading the software development team to define, develop and implement projects, and monitor results. Specifically, project tracking, identifying and managing risk, and communicating with cross-functional stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: The Software Director is responsible for development, integration and verification of software as well as for the maintenance and support of the software across multiple versions and platforms.
Responsibilities include:

  • Motivating and leading a software development team.  Will also supervise remote employees, contractors, and outsource resources.
  • Identifying needed decisions and driving the decision making process
  • Managing the scope and schedules of projects
  • Assuring that the project is tracked and all product and project deliverables (quality, performance, cost, and schedule) meet requirements
  • Scheduling and leading meetings to coordinate inter-departmental project activities required to resolve project issues
  • Commitment to meeting and exceeding the expectations of internal and external customers
  • Managing project communications to all stakeholders (project teams, functional managers, internal and external customers, and senior management), including meeting minutes, weekly updates, and phase reviews

Education:

Skills:  A successful candidate for this position will have:

  • 10+ Years of hands-on experience in the architecture, design, prototyping, development, debug, installation and broad deployment of highly scalable and reliable enterprise-class or web-scale application software on private and public cloud environments
  • 5+ Years of experience managing, motivating and mentoring engineering teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills

Accounts Payable Specialist

Accounts Payable Specialist

Responsible for full cycle accounts payable function.  Responsibilities include coding invoices and expense reports for proper payment, check prices, quantities and extensions, and matching invoices with purchase orders and receivers. Responsible for weekly payments and check runs, as well as manual checks, as required.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Review vendor invoices for appropriate documentation and approvals prior to processing for payment.
  • Match vendor invoices with receivers and purchase orders and code into Oracle for processing
  • Code and input vendor invoices into financial data processing system (Oracle)
  • Weekly payment processing (checks, wires, manual payments)
  • Proactive and timely correspond with vendors to resolve questions or issues pertaining to their account status
  • Month end close and reporting for AP function, accruals and account reconciliation
  • Vendor tax accounting/reporting (1099’s, etc.)
  • Identify potential cost savings through prompt payment discounts
  • Maintain accuracy and organization of A/P file archives
  • Assist in other duties and projects as assigned

EXPERIENCE/TRAINING/EDUCATION: 

Typically requires high school or equivalent education and some College-level accounting education.  Two to four years related accounting/accounts payable experience.

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Computerized accounts payable processing using Oracle.
  • Basic understanding of accrual accounting principles (GAAP)

SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  • Computer literate, good telephone and written communication.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively with other team members as well as independently.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to assume new tasks, and have a professional and positive attitude
