Lantronix LM Family

Out-of-Band Management for how networks work today.

Don’t Just Monitor Your Network. Fix It.
The LM Family with Control Center goes beyond access — it pulls show techs, evaluates, and recovers from issues — all without human intervention.
LM83X-SLC Hybrid
  • Monitors directly. Continuously over the console port (not SNMP over the network) for all managed devices
  • Fixes problems automatically. Data-driven pre-set runbook responses within moments—from basic clearing of an interface to recovering a router in ROMmon state
  • Escalates when it can’t. If the LM Family automation can’t resolve an issue, it can notify centralized tools with full diagnostics and a secure remote connection ready to go
  • Connects anywhere. Cellular LTE, CatM1, fiber, dial-up, or Iridium satellite — modular connectivity for every site on the planet
  • Removes the flaw in traditional NOC tools. Legacy tools depend on the network to manage the network. The LM Family doesn’t.

“We’re responsible for keeping the lights on. With the Lantronix Out-of-Band solution, we completely control who has access to our IT infrastructure.”

Control Center

Management at the Noc

Delivering a single source for secure access and compliance reporting, Lantronix’s Control Center Platform provides AAA controls, creates power monitoring and action rules without scripting, centrally archiving configs and OS files, freeing your team for more important tasks.

Deployed on-site as a dedicated server or VM, or in the Cloud, the Control Center provides flexible expandability to grow your deployment of LM series devices. Enterprise high-availability licenses are available.

Better Together: LM Series and the Lantronix OOB Portfolio

The LM Series doesn’t operate in isolation — it’s designed to work alongside the full Lantronix out-of-band ecosystem. Pair it with the SLC 9000 or EMG 8500 for high-density console access, and manage everything through a single control plane. The Lantronix Control Center provides unified visibility across LM Series devices and every connected infrastructure device in your network, while Percepxion extends cloud-native management across the broader fleet.

One portfolio. One management strategy. Zero gaps.

Percepxion for Networking

Integration with Existing Automation Tools

The SLC 9000 with Percepxion also provides network infrastructure automation and secure remote access, but by using the console server and SaaS management capabilities at the Collector and Executor level of the Network Automation Forum Framework.

As an API-first out-of-band platform the Lantronix OOB Ansible collection gives existing playbooks direct access to both the SLC 9000 console server and the Percepxion cloud management platform for no CLI scripting. No screen scraping. And now SSH comments piped through Expect.

The benefit is using the resilience of out-of-band to take advantage of the work you are already using with Ansible to configure switches, push router baselines, and keep infrastructure consistent across sites.

Built for Networks Where Compliance Isn’t Optional.
When the network is part of the mission, the hardware securing it has to meet the same standard.

Lantronix OOB solutions are TAA- and NDAA-compliant — meeting federal procurement requirements without exceptions, waivers, or supply chain risk.

  • NDAA Section 889 compliant. No prohibited components. No covered telecommunications equipment. Procurement-ready from day one.
  • TAA-compliant manufacturing. Built in TAA-designated countries — meets GSA Schedule and federal contract requirements out of the box.
  • Your management plane is part of your attack surface. Lantronix ensures that access path is as hardened as the infrastructure it manages — TPM 2.0, FIPS 140-2 encryption, RBAC, and tamper-evident audit logs standard.
  • Available through GSA Schedule and authorized federal channel partners.
Lantronix LEVEL Technical Services
LEVEL puts a dedicated expert in your corner — not a ticket queue.
  • Dedicated account specialists. A real person who knows your environment, not a rotating help desk. Fast answers when it matters most.
  • Global support, around the clock. 24/7 phone support across every time zone — because network issues don’t respect business hours.
  • Extended lifetime hardware warranty. Protect your OOB investment long-term without the hassle of renegotiating coverage.
  • Cellular OOB expertise on demand. Navigating SIM cards, APNs, and carrier contracts is complex. LEVEL gets your cellular out-of-band up and running faster, with fewer headaches.

Your OOB platform keeps your network running. LEVEL keeps your OOB platform running.

DEPLOYMENTS TO FIT EVERY SITE

With options for 2 to 104 ports of serial console connections, the LM-Series adapts to all types of deployments. The LM83X’s modular design runs from 8 to 104 ports of serial, with options for up to 16-ports of dedicated Ethernet connections. The LM83X shares modem options with the fixed 8-port LM80. Designed for network closets and small sites, the LM4 provides two or four ports of serial console connections.

Out of the box, the LM-Series installs with zero-touch deployment including easy creation of user groups and management connections through the Lantronix Control Center. Deployed as VM on prem, in the cloud, or SaaS, the Control Center manages LM-series devices and automates management of each of the connected network infrastructure devices.

The LM-Series is deployed in enterprises worldwide ranging from ultra-secure military, federal, and financial networks to downtime-intolerant networks in healthcare and energy.

Frequently Asked Questions
The LM-Series runs show commands over the console port to managed devices at 30-second increments continuously checking the health of devices, connections, and services. Using a rules engine to evaluate device responses to detect anomalies, outages, or performance degradation and immediately initiate corrective actions. When there are issues, runbook-based pre-set responses typically can solve issues before traditional SNMP polling would even post an alert.
It can address a wide range of problems, including device crashes, connectivity failures, configuration errors, and power disruptions. In many cases, it can reboot devices, restore configurations, or reroute traffic automatically. Automated responses and recovery from device issues are keys to achieving networks with high “Nines” of uptime.
By detecting and resolving issues within seconds, automated recovery minimizes downtime. Instead of waiting for IT teams to respond, the system can act immediately based on pre-set runbook responses, keeping your network running smoothly and consistently.
Yes. By eliminating the need for manual troubleshooting and reducing downtime, you save on labor costs, service calls, and lost productivity. It also helps prevent costly outages that can impact revenue.
It automates routine monitoring and troubleshooting tasks, freeing IT teams from constant oversight. This allows staff to focus on strategic initiatives rather than reactive maintenance.
Absolutely. The LM-Series is especially valuable for remote sites, branch offices, and IoT deployments where on-site IT support is limited. Automated recovery reduces downtime in these locations with fewer “truck rolls.”
The Lantronix LM-Series combine advanced monitoring, secure remote access, and intelligent automation in a single, centralized platform. They are designed for reliability, scalability, and ease of use across diverse environments. In addition, they meet compliance and save time and effort in running audits and other required reports.
Security is a core component. Automated out-of-band management uses encrypted connections, authentication controls, and secure access protocols to ensure that monitoring and recovery actions are protected from unauthorized access.
By keeping critical systems online and resolving issues within moments, automated recovery ensures business operations continue without disruption. It reduces risk, improves resilience, and supports consistent service delivery.
