Lantronix Appoints Mark Tullio to Vice President, Worldwide Marketing

IRVINE, Calif. – February 27, 2012Lantronix, Inc. (NASDAQ: LTRX), a leading global provider of smart M2M connectivity solutions, today announced the appointment of Mark D. Tullio to vice president, worldwide marketing.  Tullio, 42,  joined Lantronix in 2010 and most recently served as senior director of marketing.  In his new role, Tullio is chartered with supporting the corporate goal of expanding into new markets, deepening the focus on customer-driven product development and go-to-market processes, and leading the shift from brand development to global direct marketing and customer acquisition.

“To scale our business to a more global model, we need someone who can aggressively roll out products with a keen eye on the target market for optimum success,” said Kurt Busch, president and CEO of Lantronix. “Mark has more than 20 years of experience as a seasoned technology executive with a successful track record in all aspects of B2B and B2C marketing.   More importantly, in his previous role as senior director of marketing, Mark demonstrated his steadfast competency in all areas of marketing – from strategy and branding through execution with solid results, most recently in the launches of our award-winning xPrintServer-Network Edition and eCommerce website.   These achievements made him the natural choice to lead our continued efforts to expand Lantronix global market share as we pursue the ultimate objective of creating value and growth for our partners and shareholders.”

Prior to Lantronix, Tullio was vice president of marketing for billion dollar education provider, Kaplan, Inc.  He has held vice president and senior director level marketing positions for global companies including Sage Software, NBC Universal, Cresenda Wireless and Ardent Software.  Tullio has also led the marketing and communications for three successful technology start-ups, purchased for over $200 million.

Tullio holds a master’s of business administration in marketing from Babson College’s F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business, as well as Bachelor of Science degrees in both marketing and neuroscience psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
