Late February was a very busy time for the teams here at Transition Networks. During the same week, there was a road trip to Orlando, two different tradeshows, and the launch of two new product sets.BICSI
BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition was held Feb. 22-26 in Orlando. The show enabled participants to learn about the latest technology and advancements in the Information & Communications Technology (ICT) industry.
Not only was Transition Networks a sponsor, we also had an exhibit booth where we showcased our new ION 4110 fiber to fiber repeater. This cost-effective media conversion solution lets LAN managers use existing fiber/cable infrastructure to easily extend transmission distances at network speeds ranging from 1Gbps to 11.5Gbps – without the need to upgrade.
The ION 4110 is designed especially for industrial, enterprise, education, and government verticals, but can provide support for other markets as well.
TechAdvantage
The TechAdvantage Conference & Expo also took place in Orlando and was held Feb. 23-26. This annual show shares new ways for attendees to optimize their technology systems via presentation of the latest cutting-edge solutions and products designed to help resolve engineering, IT, energy services, operations, supply management and business challenges.
Show visitors were able to attend a presentation given by our subject matter expert and Product Manager, John Ragan, and Billy Wise from Gresco Utility Supply, Inc. The discussion was about Optimal Network Infrastructure Design for Power Utility Substation Security, Automation & Maintenance. At the Transition Networks exhibit booth, we proudly introduced the expansion of our hardened Ethernet serial device servers (SDS) line.
The hardened Ethernet SDSFX3110 family contains four new servers that offer data encryption capabilities to improve security and scalability when connecting industrial equipment to Ethernet networks located in harsh environments.
The hardened electronic design and rugged metal enclosure make these products ideal for power utility, gas exploration and applications in other challenging environments that include security cameras, substation automation, traffic and transportation, and logistics/material handling.
