Spider population growing fast!

Spider Family
We recently discussed our German-based customer netdirekt and the new business model they have created with our Lantronix Spider (KVM-over-IP) product. I’m excited to announce another company that has found success with our Spiders, XLHost.
XLHost provides a dedicated server and virtual private server hosting service to small businesses, enterprises and resellers. A key component of the company is its commitment to superior customer service. According to the company’s website, ‘XLHost’s commitment to quality, combined with our No Compromises network and datacenter ensures that your hosting experience will be as trouble free as possible.’
A part of this data center hosting experience is allowing customers to remotely access, monitor and repair their servers. Prior to Lantronix, XLHost was using a pricey, 24 port device for its KVM-IP solution. The problem was that even though the switch had 24 ports, only four users were able to use it at any given time. This ends up devaluing the solution. XLHost needed a single-port solution at a lower price point that still provided uncompromised levels of security.
The solution? Lantronix’ Spider!
XLHost customers can now request a dedicated Lantronix Spider for their hosted servers, allowing their IT administrators to remotely perform tasks. These can include routine maintenance, server reboot and virtual media, which saves the customer and XLHost time and money. In addition to continue offering first class support, XLHost has generated a new revenue stream by charging a monthly service fee for Spider access.
We love seeing our products in action, not only supporting secure remote access via KVM but also create new business models as well. It’s rewarding to see the outcome.
