Every year we look forward to our trip to the BICSI Winter Conference & Exhibition and this year was no exception. As always, BICSI is a great place to connect with our long time and new customers, and share the latest trends in network technology. The C4221-4848 NID is the first 10 Gig Ethernet fiber-to-fiber extender on the market to provide bandwidth limiting from 1 Gbps to 10 Gbps with in-band management of both the local card and a remotely located card. This NID gives network managers visibility to the port status as well as configuration control of the complete end-to-end link. The C4221-4848 simplifies operations of any network, making it a popular Transition Networks product.

Overall, our new Device Management System (DMS) software stole the show with its ability to make PoE networks more productive, secure, and manageable. Customers were impressed by our DMS software in-booth demonstrations, which are currently available through our Smart Managed PoE+ Switches as well as our Managed Hardened PoE+ Switches.

DMS allows integrators to auto discover and remotely configure IP-addressable powered devices (PD) and simplifies management of the powered devices through various views, such as a graphical topology view, floor view, or using Google Maps™. The integrated software allows users to easily locate, manage, and maintain their devices. With all of these capabilities, it’s easy to see why so many attendees stopped by our booth for a look.
