Matt and Kate are fictional characters based on real life interactions with Lantronix customers, partners and employees. They are here to illustrate how Lantronix products are used in various applications.
Matt the IT Guy
To hear his mother tell the story, Matt the IT Guy was born with a keyboard in one hand and a mouse in the other. From an early age, he was obsessed with making any electronic or computing device he came into contact with run faster and do more. (Matt’s parents’ attic is littered with his many experiments performed in the name of this quest.) Today, he works as a senior IT professional responsible for architecting mission critical solutions. In his spare time, Matt has taught himself Japanese and tries to stay up to date on the latest episodes of Game of Thrones.
Kate The Engineer
Kate the Engineer was born with a natural ability to design and build cool things. She started at the age of five with a milk box train (complete with a pencil axle, macaroni “wheels”, and an excellent center of gravity). She then proceeded to take just about everything in the house apart and to her parents surprise, put it all back together again in working order! At 16, Kate went on to explore the world of robotics at the University of Illinois. Today she is a senior design engineer developing products for the Internet of Things (IoT). When she’s not innovating, Kate can usually be found cruising around in her restored Delorean, camping or watching her favorite shows (BattleBots and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).
